Reinstalling Z Wave modules

Following a malfunction notification, three modules were deleted from panel.
In attempt to rediscover and install back, nothing is happening at the discovery window.
Modules are Linear PS152-2 light module, and one has dimmer capability. All being used with lamps.
Please recap the steps to make operational again.
Thank you.

Z-wave devices retain a parent network link, and can only be linked to one network at a time.

If they were erased from the panel somehow but did not go through the actual removal process they would themselves still be linked to a network and could not be re-added again.

To resolve, use the Remove Device function first at the panel for each Z-wave device. This clears their network link (even if they are not visible on the panel) You should then be able to pair them again.

Thanks for your reply. The remove device procedure worked for two of the modules. The third with dimmer feature can not be made to show up in the remove device window, and can not be added as a new device as prior.
Discover network was run after two were seuccesfully added.
Any further suggestions on what can be done?
Also, curious as to what would have caused the initial malfunction which caused all three modules to become inoperative?

What model of Z-wave dimmer are you working with?

Also, curious as to what would have caused the initial malfunction which caused all three modules to become inoperative?

This would typically be signaling related or due to a change in the network. If a device was removed or failed and it was the bridging node for other devices, all those devices might show malfunction.

If a device was moved and no rediscover network was run this could cause the same issue.

Good Afternoon Jason,
Just returning to this property to check on zwave module which is: Linear PD300Z Lamp Dimmer Module. Still unable to add.

The other two non dimmable modules continue to operate since adding back in earlier this month.

Look forward to your further suggestions to make operable.
Thanks.

You may need to move the dimmer close to the panel in order for a successful removal.

Make sure you are double tapping the learn button per instructions.

Bring the dimmer within 6 to 10 feet of the panel, enter “Remove Devices” on the panel, then double tap the button. Make sure you double tap fairly quick. Try a few times if you do not get it on the first, varying speed. Any luck?

If you get no response from the device and panel you may also have a malfunctioning dimmer, which may have caused the initial problem, in which case I would try replacing the device.

Thanks for your input Warren. Perhaps it was the combination of moving next to panel and button taps (finicky) brought about successful results.
Rediscover network was then run after renaming module. Is that the correct steps to follow to complete the process?

Yes, after the module is returned to it’s standard location a network rediscovery should be run. Sounds like you should be good to go!
