Sliding glass door sensor malfunction. Changed batteries but still not working.

The sensor appears to be experiencing a loss of supervision, meaning its missed its check in update with the panel. While this malfunction can be related to a low battery, it would be a signalling issue.
A few questions:
-Did you trip the sensor after installing the new battery and if so what was the result? Try opening and closing the door, does this show open on the panel?
-Is the sensor mounted on metal? Metal can diminish signalling. Is there environmental interference in
between the sensor and panel, such as metal? Metal can cause interference with signalling.
-How far away from the panel is the sensor in question?
-Can you confirm the model of the sensor?
