Using Your Qolsys IQ Panel

The Qolsys IQ Panel (the original model shown above) is no longer able to be used to set up new service. This is because the cellular communicators in the original Qolsys IQ Panel are 3G CDMA or HSPA.

3G services through the major carriers will undergo a service sunset by 2022, and 3G communicators will no longer be able to function. Their capability may also decline in some areas leading up to this sunset date.

Because of this, as of June 2019, 3G cellular communicators like the ones built into the IQ Panel can no longer be used to activate service.

What are my options?

Well, the good news is that the IQ Panel 2+ sold through Surety uses a 4G LTE communicator and the same legacy 319.5 mhz sensor radio, so all existing sensors (with the exception of Alarm.com Image Sensors) can be easily paired with the IQ Panel 2+.
